Boulder Field, Hickory Run State Park, PA.

This field was created during the last glacial age 20,000 years ago and is now a National Natural Landmark. Bedrock that was broken up from repeated freeze-thaw cycles and the movement of the glaciers deposited the boulders in the approximately 400 ft. wide x 1800 ft. long field. 

Even though the field looks flat, it is somewhat difficult to traverse, there are very few flat spots to step on and many of the smaller boulders aren’t stable. I almost lost my glasses to one of the crevasses between the boulders too. Luckily, I was able to retrieve them.
