Gravity Railroad Trestle

This trestle was built in the 1800s to help supply coal, wood and ice to Manhattan. It was part of a gravity railroad system that led to the Delaware and Hudson Canal which started in Honesdale PA and ended in Kingston NY at the Hudson River.
